Law enforcement officer facing drunk driving charge

| Apr 9, 2016 | Drunk Driving

A deputy in Saline County was recently arrested for drunk driving after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The man was arrested after he crashed a vehicle from the sheriff’s office into a tree. Charged with drunk driving, specifically driving while intoxicated (DWI), the Arkansas man is now suspended from work.

The night of the accident, local law enforcement responded to a call reporting that a vehicle had crashed and was stuck in a ditch. Upon arriving at the scene, police surmised that after the driver struck the tree and then continued along the road, he then returned to the scene of the accident. According to reports, sobriety tests were administered at the scene, but it is not clear if a Breathalyzer or blood test was performed at any point.

An arrest for drunk driving can have a negative effect on many areas of life. From job opportunities to the right to drive, the impact of a DWI can be detrimental and long-reaching. In order to properly confront such serious charges, this deputy would be wise to seek defense help, working to understand the most effective defense strategy for his particular situation.

Many people assume that an arrest for drunk driving can be quickly resolved and will bring minimal, if any, consequences. When an Arkansas driver is facing these types of charges, the serious nature of possible repercussions should not be underestimated. Fortunately, with experienced defense help, it may be possible to minimize or reduce charges. A case evaluation can determine what options are available to an individual.
