Man accused of drug crimes in Arkansas

| Mar 12, 2016 | Drug Charges

Depending upon the circumstances of an individual situation, a person accused of illegal drug activity may face misdemeanor or felony charges. Those charged with drug crimes in Arkansas will want to limit the impact those charges have on their lives as much as possible. Often, the key to doing so includes retaining the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney.

One man was recently arrested and accused of selling marijuana from his home. The 39-year-old was booked on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances. Detectives claim to have found large amounts of cash and drugs inside the man’s residence.

Police also say that drugs were found in the man’s garage prior to a search warrant being served. They also allege to have found a jacket along the road that they believe the man owns. Officers say there were various drugs and items commonly associated with drugs in the jacket.

When an Arkansas attorney investigating accusations of drug crimes on behalf a defendant suspects that law enforcement agents may have acted outside the law when conducting a search or processing an arrest, any supposed evidence collected during that time can then be challenged in court. It is important that a defendant recall the events leading to an arrest in as much detail as possible. It is typically easier to remember such details soon after an arrest has taken place; thus, requesting a meeting with an attorney in a timely manner is often beneficial toward building a strong defense.
